Meta takes 47.5% commission on NFT sales

Meta announced they would allow creators to sell NFT wearables within the Horizon Metaverse. The announcement was relatively well welcomed until yesterday’s update when they added they would keep 47.5% commission from each sale. This is a great example of how web2 is different from web3. While for web2, it is relatively normal and not surprising to take a large size of creators profits (Apple takes 30% on AppStore, Shutterstock up to an incredible 85% - yes, the photographer gets only 15%, wild no?!🤯), it is extremely unusual in the web3 space. OpenSea takes 2.5%, LooksRare takes 2.0%. I love web3.

Alien frens airdrop starts today

Alien frens launched 4 months ago, and it is time to grow the family. Holders receive 10,000 incubators today - one per OG alien fren. The incubator can be burnt to get newly evolved fren (AFE) or held for future use. Each fren holder can also purchase additional AFE for 0.25 ETH. There were 6,700 holders during the snapshot, so there will be an extra 6,700 AFE. So, the collection will have an overall 16,700 AFE.
